In Uganda, over 6,000,000 people have disabilities; and about 12,000,000 constitute their spouses, children and caretakers. The Uganda National Household Survey (UNHS), 2016 indicates that 75% of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) aged 14 – 64 experience unemployment; low education levels; and 80% face poverty.
Absence of an effective professional support system results in a situation where Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) cannot effectively participate in community life on the basis of choices equal to others.
We Launched digital platform that facilitate access to professional care support services for people with disabilities. This platform allows people with disabilities to choose the type of support service they need—from personal assistance to sign language interpretation—by interacting with a user-friendly digital interface.
